Abroad and Beyond

Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish. This week it’s Top Ten Books With X Setting (top ten books set near the beach, top ten book set in boarding school, top ten books set in England, etc). I’ve chosen top ten books set in Europe.

Every reader knows the struggle to find novels set outside of North America, especially if you’re a fan of young adult literature. It seems that all disasters befall those who live in the U.S. Luckily, a genre that incorporates a large number of european countries is historical fiction, many of these novels fall under that category.

With Malice (Italy) / Everyone Brave is Forgiven (England)

The Nightingale (France) / Outlander (Scotland) / All the Light We Cannot See (France and Germany)
Lilac Girls (France, Germany, Poland) / Barkskins (France)
The Book Thief (Germany) / Saving Francesca (Australia) / Harry Potter (Scotland)
